The Big Yellow Paint Box

My name is Laura and I'm a bit of a colour magpie. I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil and developed a lifelong love of animation and illustration.  I wanted to be a Disney animator growing up and I love the work of Ollie Johnston, Frank Thomas and Glen Keane. Waaaay back, I attended the Winchester School of Art and Design in the UK.

I began face painting whilst living in Australia as my two little girls always wanted to be painted by the face painting fairies around Perth and I knew I could have fun doing that!  Fast forward a couple of years and a return to New Zealand, I'm happy to say that Gore and its surrounding communities have welcomed me and The Big Yellow Paint Box with open arms.
